I was about to once again prove my geekiness by citing the episode of Star Trek to which I am referring, but I thought better of it. I'll say this much, though: it involves Dr. McCoy and a hypo that goes awry.
If you won't prove your geekiness, then allow me. The episode you refer to is The City on the Edge of Forever. It remains one of the greatest Star Trek episodes ever (of any incarnation), which is surprising, seeing as how it features not only William Shatner but also Joan Collins.
I've been cartooning since I was a teenager, and have been published in magazines ranging from AASHTO Quarterly to the LDS Church magazines and several other periodicals, trade publications and newsletters.
