Zombie standards

I've seen very few zombie missionaries, but when they are, it's usually at the end of a very long day of hard work.

Happy Halloween! Be careful out there!

...but I'll think about it!

Certain members of my household thought that the vampire should be all sparkly.

No.

Our next speaker...

Probably an intellectual talk, going after the congregation's...brains!

Monday Sketchbook: Halloween doubleheader

Two sketchbooks today because there's just not enough time for all the Halloween gags!

A lot of the Halloween cartoons here are about zombies, the Frankensteins and Igor. I felt that the Mummy and Wolfman were underrepresented. In the name of Halloween diversity, they both make an appearance here today.

Halloween Movies for Missionaries: Who's at the door?

This is the last of the Halloween Movies for Missionaries series. For now. The rest will have to wait for next year.

Halloween Movies for Missionaries: Who's that girl?

In one area where I served, we had a gallery of wedding announcements filled with girls who didn't wait. We occasionally used it as a dartboard.

Halloween Movies for Missionaries: The sisters get a turn

I had to include at least one movie that includes the voice talents of local Hollywood celebrity Jon Heder, and frankly, Napoleon Dynamite isn't all that scary. In a Halloween-ish way, anyway.

Family history mystery

Or she could be like my grandma and be... um...creative in explaining awkward dates and family relationships.

Monday Sketchbook: Meet the Movie

I haven't seen Meet the Mormons yet, but reports from here say that the theaters were packed for the Friday and Saturday showings. I imagine there was a pretty steep drop off on Sunday, though.

Following the prophet

One of the hardest things in the Church to do is to give a talk the week after General Conference. Some of those guys are hard acts to follow!

Luckily all I have to do is teach a lesson about Isaiah!

Looking back

If you have children and you haven't had this conversation, don't worry. You will.

Ye shall not fear

Yes, Elder Holland is the Chuck Norris of General Authorities. Or is Chuck Norris the Elder Holland of celebrities?

Essentials

I highly recommend Sis. DeFord's mint brownies. They're the best!

That post-conference feeling

I've heard a few people say that they get headaches after having had a spiritual experience. It stands to reason, then, that after two full days of General Conference, there might be a few after effects!

Speaking of after effects, fellow cartoonist Arie Van De Graaff has his General Conference recap posted and ready for use in Family Home Evening, Seminary, Primary or Gospel Doctrine. You can use my notes from General Conference as a reference!

And remember, you can download Conference to your portable handheld device for use at any time. Just be careful when you listen while wearing headphones.

Closing the loop

There are so many tips and hints and crafts and things to help enhance the General Conference experience, I almost wonder if we're forgetting to actually listen to General Conference?

Message to the world

Yes, it's time again for General Conference! I guess you could say it started last week with the Women's Meeting, then the Conference Bowl is on Friday, and General Conference is Saturday and Sunday.

There are lots of ways to view and share* Conference sessions, and don't forget the Mormon Cartoonist's Conference Activity Packet to help keep the little ones (and some of the bigger ones) engaged!

The most important thing, however, is to prepare yourself not only for the messages that will be delivered, but for the answers you need to receive. Watch with a prayer in your heart, and listen for the promptings of the Spirit.

Compromise

The caption's a little longer than I normally like, but on this one I think it's worth it...!
