It's happier and healthier

Apparently this isn't as far fetched a thought as I first thought. There's a thing called the Teal Pumpkin Project. It's for kids who can't have candy but still want to enjoy trick or treating. Putting a teal pumpkin outside your door indicates that you have treats other than candy available for those kids (although it's OK to have candy for everyone else as well).

A Reese's is unfurled

I'd always dream about having a huge mountain of candy whenever i went trick or treating as a kid. But by the time I got home, my bag was usually half full of empty wrappers!

Sketchbook: They're baaaack!

I know this isn't true, but I can imagine some of the young elders thinking this way.

Another close encounter

Originally this was going to be "don't drink and drive," but that just didn't seem right.

Blue line special

I liked the idea of the Zombioni rather than a Zamboni. Much more fun name than the generic "ice refresher."

Let's dance

There was a cartoon I drew years ago, but I never could find it. I remembered what it looked like, yet I couldn't remember the punchline — until now. It was in an obscure folder on a long, lost flash drive.  Here it is, for what it's worth.

Hurricanes on the east coast, tornadoes on the west coast. How's everybody in between?

Let's be reasonable!

Thank heaven we have the playoffs and the World Series in October — way better programming than the election coverage!

Behind the curtain

Social media sure has changed the complexion of political campaigns. There's little to no screening for truth in messaging (even more so than in the past), it seems like anyone can say almost anything they want and get away with it, and rumors become fact before the end of the news cycle!

If you believe everything you read, apparently this year the folks from Down Below aren't just running the campaigns — they're the actual candidates!

Choose the... which one is right?

After another stellar weekend in American politics, does this remind you of what you're seeing in your Facebook feed?

Times and seasons

It seems like all of the trees in my yard decide to shed their leaves on the same day. That's how I know autumn has officially arrived!

Sketchbook: Post-Conference

October General Conference has come to a close. I've compiled my notes into a handy, downloadable PDF that you can use as a refresher or a quick study guide.

If you still haven't had a chance to view Conference, check it out online at lds.org. You'll be glad you did.

Here are a couple of post-conference thoughts. What were you favorite moments from General Conference?
