This one somehow didn't make it in with the rest of the Europe trip cartoons.
I was amazed at how quickly the kids were able to get stuff posted on social media — even in places without WiFi. It was also amazing to see how many historic and significant sites you could almost see in the backgrounds of the selfies!
I love how Pres. Hinckley always said to be happy, things will work out.
That's one of the reasons I draw these cartoons. They probably won't make a huge difference in anyone's life, but each one might — for just a moment — lighten someone's load, or give an individual a slight grin (or groan) on a dreary day...if only for a moment.
A girl from our ward served a week-long mini-mission with the sister missionaries. She was shocked at how much they prayed. She said, "We must have prayed thirty times on my first day out — and I didn't get there until thee o'clock!"
OK, it's not a gag — it's a public service announcement. Every year at the end of summer, we discuss back to school safety messages. This one started out as a sketch in my meeting notes, and I kind of liked how it looked.
My son and his high school football team just took the ALS ice bucket challenge. After watching some of the celebrity videos, I wondered what it would be like if some historical figures participated!
I don't know how it is with you, but even though we clear out backpacks at the end of the year, we still find interesting things in the bottom of the bags when it's time for back to school!
We went to a baptism not too long ago and noticed that some of the investigators and new converts were at least a little familiar with the hymns, but the Primary songs were totally new to them. It occurred to me that familiarizing folks with Primary songs might be a good thing to include in the new member discussions. After all, nobody wants to feel out of place by missing a "Give, said the little stream" reference!
By way of explanation, I went to see my dentist this week, and he was on a bit of a Bob and Doug McKenzie kick when I went to see him this week... the hoser!
