It used to be on page 33

In the missionary handbook it specifically says that missionaries are not to flirt. You can't be too careful!

Hopping to it

This is what we call fill material.

Who's behind that mask?

Over on Instagram, Sis. Kerry Jo just came home from her mission. And just in time, too, if the coronavirus has any bearing on things!

It's fascinating to see the response the Church has made to do their part. The temple is closed, no meetings.

Missionaries are largely confined to their apartments, they need to take precautions if they do go out. It's crazy! Let's hope that this is resolved soon!

The right place, the right time

See what happens when you liken the scriptures to your own life?

It's part of the calling

I know our local missionaries are usually a good influence!

Sketchbook: Making it count

Which may explain why he dozes off in sacrament meeting!

Who's ready for a story?

Strange as it may seem, there are some folks who don't enjoy the Isaiah chapters in the Book of Mormon!

Give ear all ye of far countries

Ah, Isaiah. He always keeps things interesting.

Power through

I don't remember very many doors being slammed in my face. In fact, as far as I can recall it only happened once — when an unfortunate mispronunciation of a word made our approach sound more like a threat than an invitation. But that's another story for another day.

I know that the French Revolution is true...

I've had nightmares of doing something like this at work. Have you?

Sketchbook: Gimme a B!

We had a visiting authority at our stake conference this weekend. One thing he said caught my ear. Why is it, he asked, that we sit so quietly after a baptism when we really want to cheer?

Radiant beamed the sun above

My son has an alarm clock that mimics the sunrise, including humming bees and sweet birds singing — and it still isn't able to get him out of bed!

Older and wiser

Even so, I think there's always that tiny bit of panic.

Once a Scouter...

I know it's only been a matter of weeks, but there are some folks who are going through Scouting withdrawal. Please be kind.

Sketchbook: The meat of the gospel

I know every LDS cartoonist has tried to get a variation of the steak/stake homonym gag to work beyond the obvious. It's like we know there's a better joke in there somewhere!

We're having stake conference next week, hence the rumination.

The eternal nature of families

I worked it out one time, and it turns out that for fifteen years we had people in our family in diapers. That included several different people, but still — that's a lot of diapers!

Like a bolt out of the blue

As a missionary, you use every tool available.

Up the family tree

We all have at least a couple of those ancestors who keep family history interesting!

Keeping an eye on you

If you haven't heard, Tiwi is the governor installed in missionary vehicles to make sure they drive safely — and help keep insurance rates down. Kind of the Big Brother of the missionary cars.

It lets them know if they haven't logged in as a driver, if they're driving too fast, bring too aggressive (which some elders say is a matter of opinion) and all kinds of things.

Ask your local missionaries if they have a Tiwi. They'll be sure to let you know if they do!

That's not how this is supposed to work

You've gotta ask the right questions when you're trying to get the answer you want,

Sketchbook: Super Groundhog Day

Yesterday was quite an eventful day, with it being Groundhog Day AND the Super Bowl (even better if you're a Chiefs fan!). I imagined what it would be like to combine the two events.

Yeah, that's cold

The more I think about this, the more I think that it would be fun to make snowmen that depict stories from the Book of Mormon. I'll make a note of that.

Editor's note: There may be some who say that this is derivative of Calvin and Hobbes, but actually Linus made armies of snowmen long before Calvin came around!
