Cultural artifacts


When you go to places like Florence, Venice and Paris, you can easily get overwhelmed with all the amazing art that's there. What surprised me when I first went there was not only how much graffiti there was, but how artistic the graffiti is.

Here are some vandalized traffic signs from Florence and Paris:

    We had this at our campus. A walking sign had the man with wings painted on and a Red Bull can stuck to his hand.

    And a particularly legendary bit of graffiti (that was probably a commission instead) was painted over (also for a commission). I was sooooooo disappointed to see that.

    But life moves on. And I can remember it! And maybe I can recreate it...in the next life.
