Sometimes I wonder why they even have showers at Scout camp!

Camp: it's a hot spot

That's why the electronics stay at home.

You have been warned!

It may keep the deacons away, but it will have the opposite effect on the priests!

Gonna need a bigger bag

Our Young Women are off to camp this week, so it's time to pay tribute to them and their intrepid leaders. Thank you!

Pioneers: The Next Generation

How about a parade of poodle skirts?

In case you didn't know, Days of '47 is the big celebration in Salt Lake City commemorating the date the Mormon pioneers entered the Salt Lake Valley in 1847. The more you know!

Words of advice

I was recently asked by writer at CleoMadison.com to share advice that I would give to a person who is getting ready to leave on a mission. You have to scroll way down to find my advice, but Sis. Kerry Jo is happy to share her ideas right here.

Not a Sketchbook: Pioneer Day Celebration

OK, so I know it's not a sketchbook — as Mondays usually are. I was going through my old cartoons and came across this cartoon of a pre-mission Kerry Jo in the kitchen on Pioneer Day.

Happy Pioneer Day! Celebrate appropriately!

And now a brief message...

They come in swarms and eat everything in sight —

Happy day, all is (not) well

For one of the trek experiences that our stake participated in, they chose an "authentic" pioneer menu for the kids — lots of beans, gruel and flatbread.

It was not well received.

The leaders finally got the message when one of the kids asked, "Are you going to steal my livestock and burn my house to the ground while we're out here?"

The meals the next year were fabulous!

Every footstep

When you work with animals, you need to have a nimble step — and a lot of faith!

Yea, even hidden treasures

I had a former bishop who would unashamedly go for the treat drawer when he felt the need!

Which makes me wonder: how many counseling appointments could be avoided if the bishop first gave out a Snickers bar — because you're just not yourself until you've had a Snickers!

Leftovers

I don't know how this works, but it seems like no matter the amount of fireworks we get and no matter how many we set off, we always seem to have some leftover.

Liberty in their hearts
