Dieting for the birds

You know what happens when you drop a sandwich in the parking lot at the beach? It's like a scene from The Birds. Or Finding Nemo.

I imagine, then, that to the seagull palate, crickets are more of a delicacy. Perhaps a dish to be enjoyed at holiday time!

What's in a name?

There were years when our kids would refuse to eat clam chowder. Then their wise Aunt Janae told them, "This isn't clam chowder -- this is Nintendo Power Soup! It helps you play video games even better!"

From that time forward, clam chowder has been a favorite on the menu.
