Perilous times

 

I’ll start with a caveat: This is NOT a Christmas cartoon! Even though Christmas is mentioned, this is about autumn and the Fall.

It seems the pumpkin spice is rolling out early this year.

Remember that old short story by O. Henry, The Last Leaf? I started to think about that as I colorized this cartoon. I had to change the caption so it wouldn't make me cry!

The best parts

I had a friend who rhapsodized about the smells of September: freshly-sharpened pencils, new textbooks and the fresh-cut grass of a football field. I kinda like the smell of November.

It's amazing how many leaves one tree can produce!

Times and seasons

It seems like all of the trees in my yard decide to shed their leaves on the same day. That's how I know autumn has officially arrived!

It's that time of year when everything changes

In October, everything becomes pink, pumpkin flavored or both!

Seasons come, seasons go

Some people mark the passage of seasons with celebrations. Missionaries celebrate the passage of seasons by taking off their jackets in spring and putting them back on again in the fall.

It's in the air

The calendar may not say it, but fall is in the air — and this time around, it's not from the drought!
