Sketchbook: Monday, Monday

Mondays were our P-day. We were excited to see them come, but by the end of the day we were often worn out. These missionaries are probably at the end of a P-day Monday rather than at the beginning!

Cleanliness is next

Our missionary told us that they spent their Preparation Day doing chores and cleaning the house.  That's a lot of time to spend cleaning a small apartment!

And it's approved by the ADA

C'mon, don't tell me that you've never used a substitute when you've run out of stuff!

Spring cleaning

There was one apartment in our mission where we were tempted to do this. We got permission to take a week off from proselyting just so we could clean it up.*

*For any missionary moms out there, that was the exception rather than the rule!

Adventures in laundry

As a missionary I lived in a couple of areas where we had "house moms" who took care of our cooking and cleaning. One was particularly fond of taking our clothes to the river and washing them on the rocks (really!). I don't know how she did it, but somehow the sleeves of our T-shirts and garment tops became stretched and distorted — and extremely floppy. You could easily tell the elders who had served in that area because they wore that particular badge of honor.

Sketchbook: Do not procrastinate the day of your laundry!

In a lot of our missionary homes, we had someone who did our housekeeping — the cooking, the cleaning and the laundry. It was really a challenge to move from one of those areas to another where we had to do all that stuff ourselves!
