It's got potential!

When they entered the Salt Lake Valley, one of the early Mormon pioneers  is quoted as saying: "There wasn't even a tree you could call a tree!" Some of the remote settlements were even more desolate (looking at you, southern Utah!).

The desert has indeed blossomed like a rose. But it was a pretty rough patch of dirt when it started!

Here's another side of my geekiness: I get excited around the 10th of May because it's the anniversary of the driving of the Golden Spike at Promontory Summit, Utah, completing the transcontinental railroad. W00T!

So, yeah, this one's all about me.
