Straight from the source

Looks like some of us will be spending a little more time doing church at home.

Conference Hymns: No. 3

For our church at home, our pattern has been Fast Sunday, Conference talks, family talks, and then — for the past couple of months — church at church. There is much rejoicing on those Sundays when we don't have to talk!

It's the little things

The other day I was on Facebook and saw that one of my fellow ward members had posted an update.

"Hmm," I thought. "I haven't seen them in a while. I wonder why not?"

And then I remember that we haven't had meetings at the church for almost four months now and I haven't really seen ANYBODY.

Sigh.

Sacrifice brings forth the blessings of heaven

We got word this week that plans are in place that we can begin to return to church for our sacrament meetings...soon. Maybe this month, maybe next. Or who knows?

At the same time, we also received the news that General Conference will be a virtual experience again in October. What an interesting world!

Transformers: Optimus furniture

One thing about having church at home, it gives a reason to keep some places just a little bit cleaner.

Going back

The guidelines for going back to church have been released, and some wards have been cleared to meet again. Things are looking up!

Missionary Training Basement

We had a sister missionary who was just set apart — by a stake president wearing a mask. Only her parents could be there with her — with proper social distancing.

It's great to see how we can adapt!

Sketchbook: Church at home. Again.

It's been kind of a tradition in our family to wear...comfortable clothes when watching general conference on TV at home.

However, as we've been holding church at home the past few weeks, we've been dressing up in our Sunday best. I don't think we've quite figured out yet what we're going to do for a dress code for next Sunday!

The good news is, if you want to help prepare your family for General Conference next Sunday, the Ward Cartoonist has his Spring Conference 2020 Activity Packet ready for download. In addition, you can also sign up for an activity page that corresponds with each week's Come Follow Me lessons. It's a fun resource — especially when we all get to spend so much time at home!

Take care and wash your hands.

The second hour

How are you doing your Sundays at home? We usually have our sacrament meeting, then take a break, and then have Sunday school. Then it's nap time!
