Sketchbook: Catastrophe

As more and more people go back to the office, fewer and fewer cats are going to know what to do with themselves during the day!

Not just that, but video chats will be a lot less fun. One of the best things about Teams/Zoom/Skype is the chance to peek in to your co-workers' homes and pick up on clues that show what they're really like!
 

Working overtime

I went through this a few days ago — a day full of online meetings. I just got a new set of headphones, and I had to wear a face covering because there were too many people in the office. When I went home I noticed that my ears were worn out and tired. Not like after a concert, but like they'd been carrying extra stuff all day. What a weird feeling! 

I wonder if there are exercised one can do to build up one's ear muscles?
 

Office days

Even though a lot of restrictions have been lifted, a lot of people are opting to keep working from home. I wonder why that is?

It's time for another caption contest!

I had to create this picture of an elephant at a computer for a project at work. All that we needed there was the illustration. But as I look at it, it seems to me that it really needs a caption! And that's where you come in, dear reader — come up with a caption!

Anyone else happy to be back at work?

If you can't stand the heat

Our office building was just remodeled and now has a high tech heating/ventilation/air conditioning (HVAC) system. Instead of hot and cold spots like it used to have, the new building maintains an ambient temperature that falls within a certain range of comfort, right around 77 degrees plus or minus. I watched the other day as a coworker pulled out a sweater, put it on, and then pulled out a blanket and wrapped herself up in it -- and said she was still cold. There are some people, I think, who can never be too warm.

As we pack up and prepare to move from nice offices with walls, doors and windows into open spaces and cubicles, we've been trying to figure out ways to make the transition a little easier. Here's one idea that could make things interesting.
