Sketchbook: One for the books

We were lucky. Yes, the first kid had a ton of photos — but so did the last. Not because we were great documentarians. It was more of a function of changes in technology that made it easier to take photos.

The oldest has albums; the youngest has files.

My Grandma used to carry around a little photo album labeled SOGPIP: Silly Old Grandmother with Pictures In Her Purse.

Nobody takes pictures like grandparents!

Seriously, was anybody happy to have family photos taken back in the day? Everyone always looks so cranky!


I know it was a function of how photography worked back then, but surely someone could have grinned a bit, right?
