Sunshine state

There’s nothing that can beat a beautiful spring day! Especially in the Pacific Northwest when there isn’t any rain!

Dress for your guess

Bright, sunny, clear and cold is the forecast today. Jacket weather? Sweater weather? Who knows?

Spring has brought me such a nice surprise!

A lot of the missionaries who are serving here in the Pacific Northwest come from drier climes, like Utah or Arizona. There are a lot more pollen producing plants here — especially in the springtime — and the missionaries often discover wonderful things... like allergies that they never had before!

Sketchbook: It's a seasonal thing

Welcome  to the first day of spring! For some, that means allergy season is here! Woot!

Another sign of spring is that General Conference is just around the corner. That means that Mormon Cartoonist Arie Van De Graaff has his semi-annual General Conference Activity Packet available for download (now in three languages!).  Check it out!

Out cold

It's unusual for us here in Oregon to have snow days from school. It's even more rare for us to have them in March. Last night it snowed enough — up to 12 inches in some places — that school was cancelled yet again.

When I drove past the high school this afternoon, though, the track team and the baseball team were both out there practicing!

Going out on a limb...

Sometimes even as a missionary it was tempting to succumb to the lure of a lovely spring day!

Monday Sketchbook: Spring broke? Springs repaired!

I was one who didn't understand spring break. I thought it was just time off that they gave us around Easter so we could do chores.

I must've had pretty smart parents, eh?

Rite of spring

I can't be the only one who experiences a little bit of sadness when the shovel goes back into the shed for the year!

Snooze

I realize that some places are still seeing snow, but spring is just around the corner!
