The stake president sends his love

Sometimes it feels a little awkward when the folks conducting meetings express their love for their spouses. Not that it's a bad thing, but it feels like something that might be better done at home.

What I wanted to know is if anyone voted in opposition to this proposal?

Editor's note: The first draft of this cartoon had Brigham Young on the stand. Some quick research showed that the Brigham Young gag had already been done, but better.

As missionaries, we often got mistaken for people in other professions, usually the CIA (but there was that one time where someone wondered if we we members of KISS, but that's another story). But we were never suspected of being there to promote online dating — probably because it hadn't been invented yet!

I don't recall having crushes on any of my Primary teachers. Elementary teachers, yes, but Primary teachers not so much. Maybe that's because we were usually in trouble!

Valentine's Day is going to be kind of low-key for us this year. Not only are we still dealing with the pandemic, we're also in the middle of an ice storm, AND we have stake conference to boot!

LDS cartoonists seem to pick on Brigham Young, Nephi, Moroni, Samuel the Lamanite and Captain Moroni. I really hope each of those guys has a sense of humor!

Personally, I don't remember Valentine's Day being that much of a thing as a missionary. Until the package of notes from the kids in Primary came about three weeks later.

It's like a piece of me

This reminds me of an old Fox Trot cartoon where Jason wanted to take a more realistic approach to his valentines. He cut up little pieces of meat that he glued to his cards and said, "Here's a piece of my heart for Valentine's Day."

I suggest we stick with tradition.
