It could be worse. It could include giants and grasshoppers!

A travel journal, part 5
It may seem that a lot of the travel cartoons focus on food. Napoleon is often credited with saying that an army "travels on its stomach." The same it true with a tour group. If you can get some good sleep and eat some good food, then you'll have a good trip.
Lunch that day was in San Sebastián, Spain, where they have a variety of excellent food, including these wonderful empanadas that helped us survive the meager breakfast!
In this particular hotel, there were two tables set up for breakfast. One had fruits, pastries, juices, cereals, breads, cheeses and more. That was for the regular guests. Our table is as described, with the addition of a couple of carafes of water.
I saw more than one member of our group "accidentally" grab breakfast from the other table. Can't say that I blame them!
We have certain travel rules set up for safety. One of those is to not wander off alone in an unfamiliar area at night without letting a chaperone know. It's easy to get lost. And if you've ever been lost at night in a foreign country where your understanding of the language is rudimentary at best, you'll understand why this rule is in place. It only happened one time. Never again.

A palate cleanser
I with the logo could be a little more prominent.
By the way, where did we find a zombie who is so articulate?

What's left to put on the menu?
It was a huge deal in our house if we ever ran out of the basics. The basics being cereal and milk — and the occasional Pop Tarts.

A new hope
OK, I can't think of another instance where I've run two Mission President gags in a row. But I thought the idea of Captain Moroni as a cereal mascot was pretty funny, and who else would be more likely to come up with that idea other than a missionary?
That's also the Detroit Michigan temple — because Battle Creek* doesn't have one yet!

Breakfast of champions
This is an update/variation on an old one I drew years ago. It never felt quite right — this one works much better in my opinion.
Now we can all sleep better.

Hey! It's another caption contest!
I had this all sketched out quite nicely, and I'd scribbled some words next to it for a caption idea — but it was mostly indecipherable! I thought for sure the idea (or another) would come back to me as I inked and colored it. But, alas!
Please help me out! Give me your best idea for a caption for this. You can comment below, email me, DM, or answer on social media. Heck, you can even tell me in person!
The winner will receive his or her own copy of my cartoon collection, That's one small step for a mom, one giant leap for missionarykind. Truly a valuable prize!
The winner will be announced on Saturday, so please enter early and often!

Cooking skills
I nearly killed myself the first time I made breakfast in my first area. Besides being the first time for me to cook in a foreign country, it was also the first time that I'd ever used a gas stove -- and it didn't have an igniter. We had to use matches to light it. I turned on the gas, got out the matches, and after a couple of tries (while the room was filling with gas), I finally got a match to light.
FOOM!
A huge explosion rocked the apartment! Things fell out of the cupboards and off the counter! The other elders ran into the kitchen to see me standing dazed and singed with a burnt out match between my fingers!
I was supposed to make pancakes that day. Frankly, I don't remember what happened next. I think my companion sent me to lie down and he made breakfast instead.
And, yes, next time it was my turn to cook what was on the menu? That's right. Cold cereal!
