Standing for something

It's Conference time!

If you –– or your Primary class –– need something to help focus your (or their) interest during the sessions, download Arie Van De Graaff's Conference Activity Packet, available at Sugardoodle. It's also available in Portugese if you have the need.

The Church website also has ideas on how you can prepare for Conference and ways you can invite others to share.

And be sure to come back Sunday and Monday for my sketchbook recap!

2013 Top Ten, Part II

And now, the rest of the Top Ten!

No. 5
Every parent has dreams like this. Some of them even get to have the experiences!

No. 4
To tell the truth, I'm not sure what I'd do if a turkey came knocking at my door!

No. 3
Our ward went pink with a set of awesome sister missionaries. This gag features Sis. White, one of the most awesome sisters we've had!

No. 2
This was one that was way more popular than I expected it to be, but I think it's one a lot of people can relate to!

No. 1
This one got a lot of attention, here, on Meridian, on Facebook, on Pinterest. I even got a call from someone at the Family History Center asking if they could use it for a presentation!

Thank you for your continued support and readership.

Happy New Year!

That's on the FTP site

A while back there was a news story about the First Presidency and members of the Quorum of the Twelve having a presence on social media, including Facebook and Google+. There's a lot of good potential there. But what about the flip side? I did a cartoon a couple of years ago about being unfriended by Santa...Wouldn't it just feel awful to be unfriended by the Prophet?

Something's in the air!

I did mention our group consisted of twenty-one girls. That's twenty-one cute girls. There were several boys we encountered who were very interested in some sort of cultural exchange. Luckily, we also had a cadre of very diligent chaperones!

By the way, if you want to see a few photos from our trip, we've got some posted on Flickr.

Product placement

If you haven't heard, filming is underway for the new Hobbit movie. that got me thinking about creative ways movies are financed...
And speaking of product placement (what a smooth segue, yes?)...

My gifted, talented and extremely musical cousin (or cousin-in-law if you want to get technical about it) is one of the creators of "The Lord of the Rings -- A Choral Symphony." She's created a Facebook page to promote it, and would very much like you to like it, too! Go on and give her a "like" on Facebook. Thank you.
