A foot in the door

The whole thing about how vampires can't come into your home unless they're invited could turn out to work in their favor.

Sketchbook: Let them in

Either way it could have eternal consequences!

Well, that doesn't stink!

According to the internet, studies show that Halloween night is one of the top five nights for pizza delivery in the United States. I'm pretty sure that it's because it makes an easy and effective defense against vampires if you load up on garlic.

One of our local pizza places has garlic knots that are potent enough to keep vampires at bay for weeks!

Child care

It's October, so that means it's time again for Halloween cartoons!

This is a reworking of one I did a long, long time ago, and I like this one much better.

And can I just point out the toy in the crib? Yes, it's a batmobile.

Sidekicks

The original sketch of this included two other monsters: Frankenstein's monster with a mixed breed dog, and Wolfman with a pup.

Take out

Social distancing really bites. Unless you're a vampire — then it makes it so you can't bite!

It's a scheduling thing

It does make it difficult to get up in the morning — especially on fast Sunday!

Another close encounter

Originally this was going to be "don't drink and drive," but that just didn't seem right.

The first of the month

It's always a good idea to check your calendar before you go wandering around castles in Transylvania.

Monday Sketchbook: Taste test

OK, this one takes a little more work than it should for not enough payoff, which is why it stayed in the Sketchbook. "Sweet" and "fruity" should lead to "melon-y'" or something that tastes like a melon -- which, in turn, sounds like "Melanie," who could have been a source for the sample for the vampire's taste test.

See what I mean? This one stays in the sketchbook, never to see the light of day -- kind of like the vampires!

Monday sketchbook: The French lesson

For Christmas I was given a daily calendar with French phrases. This was one of the first phrases to appear when I opened it up. For some reason, this was the first image to pop into my mind.
