Expiration date

We just finished prom season here, both Mormon prom and school prom. Even though both proms may look the same on paper, there's a world of difference between the two!

Another close encounter

Originally this was going to be "don't drink and drive," but that just didn't seem right.

Monday Sketchbook: Halloween doubleheader

Two sketchbooks today because there's just not enough time for all the Halloween gags!

A lot of the Halloween cartoons here are about zombies, the Frankensteins and Igor. I felt that the Mummy and Wolfman were underrepresented. In the name of Halloween diversity, they both make an appearance here today.

Monday Sketchbook: Dress Code

I know they say that fashion always comes around again, but please keep us from leisure suits, platform shoes for men and loud, plaid bell bottoms!

I want to dance all night

I don't know how it is elsewhere, but around here we have a "Mormon Prom" that's either the week before or after the high school prom. Usually they try to ensure that everyone has a date, the go all out on decorations, and the whole environment is one of fun while still abiding by Church standards.

Having been a chaperone at both high school and church dances, I can tell you there's a HUGE difference in the atmosphere. And no one, to my knowledge, has been suspended for misbehaving at the Mormon Prom.

I'll show you my values

I went to a stake conference with my brother one time, and they had a youth speaker who talked about the importance of keeping high standards in dating. Her talk was based a lot on personal experiences...some of them were, perhaps, a little too personal.

Monday Sketchbook: Keep to the code

I was torn whether to leave this as a sketch or make it into a full cartoon. I was afraid the graphic could be too graphic, and we don't want this blog to go past a PG rating, now, do we?
