Sketchbook: Appy Thanksgiving

Sometimes I get good ideas in the middle of the night, sometimes the ideas are less good. My mind got distracted trying to figure out what the app would do. I do like the idea of turkey software engineers. That has some potential.

There's no app for that?

My kids today wonder how anyone could have navigated the waters of dating and courtship without any electronic means whatsoever.

Those were the days.

Just say no.

Apparently some dating apps are a little more forceful than others in allowing users to reject potential suitors.

All in the family

I keep waiting for some hidden family secrets to be revealed whenever someone pulls out the "find my relative" option on the Family Tree app.

Our instructor had us try it last week in Elders Quorum. When he asked if anyone found any relatives, I raised my hand and said, "I have a son!" My son, who was sitting next to me, was not amused.

What's in your tree?

My son had an app on his phone that somehow caused another app to crash. As apps get "smarter" and interact more with each other, I can see something like this happening!

Engaged in a good cause

I'm sure he was using the Scripture Mastery app, or one of the many others that are available to enhance gospel study.

Truth be told, I've never seen anyone use ear buds during a sacrament meeting... but I've seen plenty of apps running that weren't church-related!

Cloud control

Good things and bad things are only a click or two away. It might help to have a reminder which click to choose!

Line upon line

It may just be me, but it seems harder to get to scriptures quickly on my iThings. But that just could be me.

Actually, Scripture Mastery is just one of several apps offered by the Church.
