Leader of the pack

Yes, it’s a variation of a very old joke. One that I’m sure has been around since the days of Joseph Smith.

What this really is is an excuse to draw a bunch of dogs.

We've got the spirit, yes we do!

There are times when I think it would be awesome to have spirit days in church like they do in school: pajama day, twin day, crazy hair day. Then there are times when I realize how irreverent and disrespectful that would be (at least for Sunday worship services).

There's a reason why I'm not in charge of things. Could be fun, though.

Have I got a message for you!

Ever been in a meeting and felt like the talk was meant just for you? Maybe it was meant to be!

The day dawn is broken

Personally, I'm not a fan of any meeting that starts before 7 a.m.

Sketchbook: Periodic adjustments

We just shifted from 10:30 to the 9 o'clock schedule for our meetings. It's taken a little bit of work to get used to, but we're getting there.

Sketchbook: I think it’s going to be a long, long time

I noticed yesterday how long it took to clear out the church after meetings were over. Yeah, we may still have three hour church.

What's in a word?

It's possible that I may have dozed off just a little bit in one of my virtual meetings this week. But I'll deny it if you ask me!

Dawn of the living undead

Haven't you felt that way after a day packed with Skype, Zoom and Teams meetings?

Sketchbook: Church at home

How was your experience with having church at home? We had some great talks, followed by a good Sunday school lesson. It was almost like regular church — Grandma fell asleep during the lesson!

Sketchbook: The meat of the gospel

I know every LDS cartoonist has tried to get a variation of the steak/stake homonym gag to work beyond the obvious. It's like we know there's a better joke in there somewhere!

We're having stake conference next week, hence the rumination.

The songs of Zion

Church in Athens was awesome! There are two branches that meet in the same building: a Greek branch and an English branch.

We went to the Greek branch because of our flight schedule (we stacked up our baggage in the foyer). There were people there from all over the world: Sweden, France, Canada, the USA, Greece (of course), and others. The business and prayers were all in Greek, but the talks on this particular day were both in English.

What was cool was that everyone sang the hymns in their own language! It felt like the "unity of the faith" that the scriptures talk about. It was an awesome experience!

Sketchbook: On a tight schedule

I've heard nothing but praise for the new church schedule from parents of small children. I wonder why that is?

A willing heart

You had to have known that this one was coming.

What I wonder is, how in the world are we going to work in the Sunday post-game recap after sacrament meeting if we only have two hours? I'll have to bring that up in ward council.

Advanced notice

Wouldn't it be great if kids came with gauges or dashboards to let you know right before they get too tired, hungry, bored or restless?

Ye shall meet together oft

It's good to meet together oft, but it's even better if there's an agenda and a purpose for the meeting!

Let the hype begin!

I know what some of you plan on doing today!

I think we purposely have stake conference on Super Sunday so that the afternoon and evening are free from extra meetings. It's just a theory.
