SPF 10?

Be sure to use the sunscreen.

I declare!

You know that old myth that we only use 10% of our brains? What happens if we turn that 10% over to the bishop?

Side note: Sometimes I'm glad cartoons don't come in scratch 'n' sniff!

Unbeleafable

Leaves really enjoy autumn. They really let loose.

A slip of the slips

Since it is the Ides, and since I continue to have production issues, I thought I'd reshare this one from a few years ago.

Although it's less of an issue these days due to online donations, it's still important to be careful out there!

The windows of heaven

Remember that Church video called The Windows of Heaven? A rainstorm came to end a drought once the Saints remembered the commandment to pay their tithing — the windows of heaven opened up to bless them with rain.

As I was drawing this, it occurred to me that the prophet who delivered that message was Lorenzo Snow. I must have made that unconscious connecting when I wrote this gag.

Sketchbook: An accounting

It's nice to start getting back to some normal operations at church. We're still a ways out from holding sacrament meetings, but at least we don't have to do everything by Zoom anymore!

I only have tithes for you

This should be the last of the redraw/reformats.

Our bishop was our home teacher at the time I drew this one. I told him that his were the hands and feet. He thought that was nice. The next year this cartoon came out in the New Era, and he was over the moon — his hands and feet were in the Church magazines!

At about the same time, Brian Crane, creator of the comic strip Pickles (and also a member of the Church), came out with a similarly-themed cartoon. Their grandson wanted to go as God for Halloween because people would then give him ten percent of their candy. Great minds — or something!

The windows of mammon

This is a revision and update of one that I did a few years ago. Time to render unto Caesar!

Sketchbook: Alms, both loud and long

This came out of my notes from the "Come, Follow Me" studies this past week. I kind of like the idea of staying outside the bishop's office and blasting a trumpet every time someone hands him a tithing envelope!

Sketchbook: Gourds be with you

I'm running this a couple of days before Halloween as a public service announcement. You know how you never know what to do with your old pumpkins once Halloween is over?

Pieces of tithing

Yes, once again it's Talk Like A Pirate Day! Annoy your friends! Annoy your family! Annoy your bishop!

Somewhere at the end of the rainbow

Because those little pots fit into the tithing envelopes much, much better!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

A day late, a dollar short

This probably should have run yesterday, but my calendar was off. At least I got my taxes in on time!

Scripture power, unplugged

Sometimes it's easier to misunderstand the scriptures. *
